As a freelance artist educator for National Gallery, I plan and deliver workshops for young people in response to current exhibitions.

 

In June 2018, I worked with the Young Producers to create a series of soundscapes relating to five Thomas Cole paintings from the series Eden to Empire on show at National Gallery. This series was made available to the public via audio guides at the July edition of Friday Lates, Force of Nature, curated by the Young Producers. 
 

Participants learned to use zoom mics and edit audio on Logic X software. Once sounds were recorded, participants experimented with each other’s audio, structured their compositions and listened to how sounds work together. Young people discussed their experience relating sound to painting, and created an audio work from start to public display.
